Earlier this week the internet was buzzing with this fan made trailer for Game of Thrones season 4. The trailer featured a remake of Tears for Fear's "Everybody Want's to Rule The World" performed by Lorde.
People went nuts and comments were overwhelmingly positive. From io9 to BuzzFeed the general consensus was this was a much better season 4 trailer than the one HBO put together.
"This is the trailer HBO should have made!"
"This is fan made? HBO- find this person and hire them"
"Chills. That is one hell of a trailer."
"So much better than the official version."

The fan version was almost immediately removed from YouTube (and will probably soon be removed from Vimeo). So here's the thing, all legality aside, the video was a hit with fans and promoted a just released Lorde song. It was a win/win for everyone. So why take it down? Obviously because it violated copyright laws.
But in the age of memes this just goes to show how stupid and out of touch big corporations are with the people who are doing positive things to promote their brands.
